Getting started and your level
Can I start as a beginner, or do I need strength already?
Yes. You don't need to be able to do a pull-up or have any calisthenics experience. We coach complete beginners and people working on advanced skills. Every exercise has an easier variation, and that's where you start until you're ready for the next step.
I'm not fit. Do I need to build my fitness first?
No. You build fitness by training. We start the load at your level and raise it step by step.
Am I too old to start?
No. Strength training works at any age, and the older you get, the more your strength decides whether you stay independent. We adapt the build-up and the exercises to your body, not your goal.
How often do I need to train to make progress?
Twice a week already gives serious progress if you're consistent and the exercises are right. Three times is faster. Four times isn't automatically better: you get stronger between your workouts, not during them.
The Skill Assessment
What exactly is the Skill Assessment?
Sixty minutes one-on-one with a coach. We talk about your goal and your training history, we measure your strength, mobility, technique and posture with a fixed set of tests, and you train briefly with us. At the end you know where you stand and which route works fastest for you. Arrive 10 minutes early so you can change calmly and we start on time.
Why does it cost €59 and isn't it free?
Because it's a full hour of coaching: sixty minutes one-on-one with a coach and a measurement your plan is built on. It's a one-off amount, with no membership and no obligation to buy anything afterwards. If you'd like to get a feel for the place without paying first, book a free trial group class.
Do I have to decide straight away afterwards?
No. You get advice and decide yourself whether and when to start, so you can take your time. If Wolfpack turns out not to be the right match, we'll tell you.
What should I bring?
Sportswear you can move freely in, clean indoor shoes, water and an idea of what you'd like to be able to do. That's it.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Yes, let us know at least 24 hours in advance and we'll move it free of charge. If you don't show up without letting us know, we can't refund the amount.
Offer and prices
Which option suits me?
Wolfpack Base if you train independently, group classes if you want to learn technique in a group, Coaching by Wolfpack if you want a tailored programme with follow-up, remotely too, and the Evolve Pack if you want to work towards a goal for twelve weeks with a coach at your side. In doubt? That's what the assessment is for.
What does training at Wolfpack cost?
Wolfpack Base costs €95 a month on a monthly contract, €85 a month on a six-month contract (€510) or €75 a month on a yearly contract (€900). Coaching by Wolfpack costs €190 a month, as a yearly contract only (€2,280 a year), with free access to the gym included. The twelve-week Evolve Pack costs €997 in one go, or 3 × €359 in instalments (one per 4-week block), with free access to the gym included. A single group class costs €22, a 10-class card costs €200 and stays valid for 90 days. You start with the Skill Assessment at €59. + €35 one-off registration fee when you start Wolfpack Base, Coaching by Wolfpack or the Evolve Pack.
Isn't the Evolve Pack expensive?
Do the maths: the programme itself costs €997 (plus the €35 registration fee). For 24 sixty-minute sessions that is about €42 a session, with a coach who watches only you the whole time. On top of that you get a tailored plan for your other workouts with feedback on it, a measurement of your strength, control and mobility every four weeks, and free use of the gym for those twelve weeks.
Can I also train at the gym with Coaching by Wolfpack?
Yes. Wolfpack Base, free access to the gym, is included in Coaching by Wolfpack. You train with your personal programme in Berchem whenever it suits you, during opening hours, and during classes and at fixed coach hours there's a coach for your questions, a form check or feedback. If you live further away, you can follow the coaching fully remotely.
Can I try it first?
Of course. For group classes you book a free trial class. Want to know which option suits you? Then you start with the Skill Assessment. And you're always welcome to drop in and see the gym. That costs nothing.
Practical
Where exactly are you, and how do I get there?
De Lescluzestraat 64, 2600 Berchem, not far from Antwerp city centre. By public transport there are several options, and Antwerpen-Berchem station is close by. By car you are right by an exit of the E19. The contact page has the map and directions.
When can I train?
With Wolfpack Base and Coaching by Wolfpack you train during opening hours, without booking: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 07:00 to 22:00, Wednesday from 14:00 to 22:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 22:00. The group classes are on the class schedule, which comes straight from our booking system.
How do I book a class?
You book group classes at least a day in advance in the app or through the member portal, with a single class or with your class card. Coming for the first time? Then you book a free trial class through the trial class page.
How busy is it?
We deliberately keep Wolfpack Base at a maximum of 75 members and the group classes at a maximum of 10 people each.
Can companies train with you?
Yes. We do corporate coaching for teams and we rent out the space to outside coaches and groups. The page for companies (in Dutch) shows what's possible.
Injuries and health
I have an injury. Can I take part?
Yes, once your doctor gives you the green light. From then on you get exercises and a build-up that suit your situation. Tell us about the injury in advance so we can take it into account. We're coaches, not physiotherapists: we don't diagnose or treat. If there's pain, we refer you to your doctor or physio.
Is calisthenics hard on your joints?
Not if the build-up is right. The risk lies in wanting too much too fast: tendons and joints adapt more slowly than muscles. That's why we work with progressions and build up the load gradually.
Should I see a doctor before I start?
Only if your health gives you a reason to. Do you have a heart or vascular problem, a chronic condition, or do you take medication that affects how much load you can handle? Then talk it through with your doctor first. If you're unsure, ask your doctor too.
Do you give nutrition advice too?
Yes, for healthy athletes: practical structure around protein, energy and recovery. For medical nutrition (with diabetes, an eating disorder, pregnancy or another indication) we work together with a dietitian.
Paying, cancelling and appointments
How do I pay?
Memberships are paid by direct debit (SEPA). One-off purchases like a single class or a class card you pay with Bancontact, iDEAL or card.
How do I cancel my membership?
You end a monthly Wolfpack Base membership with thirty days' notice before the end of the current period. Six-month and yearly contracts run until the end of the period, except for a medical reason with a certificate. Coaching by Wolfpack is a yearly contract without automatic renewal.
What if I'm ill or injured for a long time?
Let us know with a certificate and we'll find a solution together: pausing or postponing. We won't have you pay for months for something you can't attend.
Who can I go to with a complaint?
To us, and preferably straight away. Send your complaint to management@wolfpackcalisthenics.com, we'll look into it and you'll get an answer within fourteen days. The full procedure is on our complaints page (in Dutch).
